Was hoping for a bit more on the bonus side, but the full Live Aid concert in 4K? SOLD!

But, it`s not Queen themselves performing, though, right? There is no point to having a full performance by the actors, of Queen`s set. And, as much as I want to get this release, the extras look really lame and the cover is rather bland. Loved the movie itself but I would rather have more deleted scenes and making of stuff. Not so sure this will be a Day 1 purchase for me now. Was hoping for something a little more. Perhaps, there will be more details announced as we near release date. ???

I knew there probably wouldn’t be much in the way of behind-the-scenes content, given all the on-set drama this film endured.

Well, the Full Live Aid performance as a "deleted scene" is better than nothing. And it is Queen's music, just lip-synced and acted out by the actors. Two extra songs there. Ya, it would have been great to get other deleted scenes that would flesh out story elements, but it is what it is.

The full actual-real Queen Live Aid performance was once included on the full DVD box set for Live Aid which is long OOP, but the full Queen sequence is also still available on the "Queen Rock Montreal" Blu-Ray.

Given all the behind the scenes drama, I imagine Fox wants to keep all of that as quiet as possible.

Picking up the 4K. Didn't get to see it in theatres, so I can't wait to watch it. And that cover artwork looks great.

I had heard about the Sacha Baron Cohen issues and how much drama there was parting ways with him. But, was there additional drama and issues after the cast was cemented and production started (beyond the normal issues that a film production might endure)? And, yeah, that would be the stuff that would make a great making-of. I just figured they would be holding out the goodies until a director`s cut or the re-packaging for the inevitable Holidays release. But, this isn't a movie that I would want to double-dip on, anyways.

Bryan Singer was fired as director 2/3 into shooting after a long absence from set and repeated no-shows, and he was replaced with Dexter Fletcher (who’s only credited as executive producer). This is not helped by Bryan’s toxic relationship with Rami Malek and others on the crew, along with the many skeletons in his closet coming back to light in the era of #MeToo. Fox also didn’t renew their deal with his production company. I’d be surprised if he found serious work again in Hollywood after this mess, and there was no way he was ever going to be involved in the bonus features. It’s pretty much impossible for anyone to do a commentary or anything without bringing up his termination and change of directors.

With how much money this movie made with his name attached as sole director. I’m sure he will be fine. He just signed up to direct Red Sonja. Either he has dirt on so many people, or the higher ups at the studios don’t care about any potential scandal with his name attached.

I guess only time will tell. For this movie, I think Fox firing him and cutting ties was likely enough to fan the flames early. Most of the conversations surrounding this movie are about Rami Malek’s performance, which is absolutely deserved because he’s the best part of this movie and deserves any praise he can get.

Actually, he was fired because he didn't show up to set for several days in a row.

Please pardon my ignorance. Is the included Live Aid set with the Original band or the movie band?

Here is a nice tribute video:

Seems like his been an absentee director for awhile. I guess this one was the final straw.

There was also an Esquire article that Singer made a big stink about on Instagram a week before the film was released that hasn't been published yet.
