Bryan Singer was fired as director 2/3 into shooting after a long absence from set and repeated no-shows, and he was replaced with Dexter Fletcher (who’s only credited as executive producer). This is not helped by Bryan’s toxic relationship with Rami Malek and others on the crew, along with the many skeletons in his closet coming back to light in the era of #MeToo. Fox also didn’t renew their deal with his production company. I’d be surprised if he found serious work again in Hollywood after this mess, and there was no way he was ever going to be involved in the bonus features. It’s pretty much impossible for anyone to do a commentary or anything without bringing up his termination and change of directors.
