Welp. While I was a fan of the movie, I don't really think this is necessary...at all.

Especially since
[Show spoiler]the villain was killed
.

My exact thoughts.
[Show spoiler]The film closed up perfectly and made the film more real. How will we bring Diana back from the dead?

Yeah this doesn't really seem to make any sense. Movie was okay but not exactly screaming for a sequel, especially since it was so short the first time out and that was perfectly fine.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if they went the Ouija route and did a prequel instead - perhaps about
[Show spoiler]Diana and Sophie's time in the mental hospital together.

Jumping the gun surely, like it's not made more money than Ghostbusters yet?

Oh come on now. From a money standpoint I fully get why they greenlit a 2nd however this is so completely unnecessary within this universe. I wasn't crazy about the first though so my distaste could be coming through.

My prediction in the first film's thread is Diana made other friends in the psychward that she can haunt.

That would completely undermine what happened in the first, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Maybe it's an entirely new story with different characters. I kinda hope it is. Not only did the first movie wrap everything up, but I feel bad for the two kids. I don't want them constantly haunted.

Especially after Rebecca had to
[Show spoiler]watch her mother commit suicide just to save them. That is some serious guilt.

Studios say hello, and I like money.

That's all they need to know to come up with something. Look at the Hangover series.

I know. But see also make sequels that no one ends up seeing. Mainly cause the first made a lot. Now You See Me 2 says how you doing?

Same with TMNT, Alice, Allegiant, Gods Not Dead 2, Zoolander 2, Ice Age, Huntman, Neighbors 2, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Independence Day: Resurgence, etc.

Not only that but that international market eats up anything remotely Hollywood. So even if a movie sinks faster than a sub with screendoors in the US, our sweet & sour overlords in China will usually help out the returns.

Terminator: Genisys says hi by the way.

Wow. This year has been really depressing for movies. Plus many more I'm sure.

Star Trek Beyond will be the first in the trilogy to make less than $200M.
