Default National Lampoon's Vacation/European Vacation - 8/10/2010

National Lampoon's Vacation Blu-ray

National Lampoons Vacation Blu-ray Review

National Lampoon's European Vacation Blu-ray

National Lampoons European Vacation Blu-ray Review

Looks like Vacation and European Vacation have finally been announced. What the hell is up with that cover art though, WB?! That's bad even by Sony's standards. They kept the original poster art for the DVDs as well as Christmas Vacation on Blu-ray, so this is a disappointment.

BTW, I hope someone reminded them about the wrong Pointer Sisters song being played during one scene and they get that corrected.

great news about them being announced! but yea that cover art is not very good at all to say the least..........

and sorry im not familiar with it but what do you mean wrong pointer sister song? what scene is that in? is it different on the home video versions then the original theatrical version?

EDIT- ah just looked it up, thats strange they would change that, hopefully its corrected on this release.

Worst Cover art ever on the two vacation films! Why do they like making cover art look so ugly!? It never makes any sense. The original cover art Esp for Vacation is iconic! this is just odd. I guess it could be worse they could be double features haha.

Will defin purchase What's Up Doc also.

What's Up Doc is actually a great comedy, this coming from a non-Striesand fan! Plus the late Madeline Kahn is in it, she is surely missed.

These are cool movies, the cover picture is kind of lame, but at least it isnt in those cheap cardboard cases Warner brothers used to use for all its DVDs.

Don't give them ideas!!!

Regarding the bad covers, didn't you read my other thread? It is the norm for BD covers to look lame.

Yeah, the cover art is crap. But I'm more surprised that these aren't a double feature disc.

The film was always Rated R for vacation but the only shower scene that I ever saw even on VHS was her topless and scared. If there were cuts to that is must have been like that since the theatrical run ...? I would guess.

I remember the Pointer Sisters I'm So Excited on the old VHS releases very well, so surprised on the DVD release it was missing. very odd.

I can't remember the DVD release much.

I might get these, I consider them both to be a good deal better than Christmas vacation.

I would definitely like to pick up Vacation so I hope they do a decent job on it, better than Christmas Vacation.

I also hope they release Vegas Vacation. I find it to be the finniest in the series.

I thought I read somewhere that Christmas Vacation was out and had a really bad transfer...am I remembering wrong?

Well, can't wait for the first Vacation. I think it's considered a classic comedy, but I wonder what kind of effort they'll put into making this look good.

Oh, and I've seem some ugly covers before, but I've always refrained from complaining because it's just the movie that matters to me. But this one is truly so god-awful that I even can't believe someone thought this was what they cover would/should look like. I mean, it's REALLY bad.

It has been released 2 times on Blu-ray. This site gave the AQ 2.5/5 both times. Vacation has to be 3.5 or better, else I am not buying. I don't expect perfect quality but I want a real effort.
