National Lampoon's Vacation

Vacation (1983) is one of my all time favorite movies, and defiantly is on the short list of greatest comedies of all time. I figured I would post this here since I can't find any other mention of the film, the state of the master, or if there are any plans in the works to release it on Blu-ray. The only version I have of Vacation is the Letterboxed DVD, and it is quite grainy. If it's any indication of what kind of state the master is in, then it will surely have to be re-mastered before making an appearance on Blu-ray. The master being 25 years old definitely doesn't help either. Is there anybody "in the know" on these forums that can speculate as to if/when such a classic like National Lampoon's Vacation would make an appearance on Blu-ray? I'm sure that it costs a large amount of money to restore these films to the point of where they look good at 1080p. There must be a point where studios decide that the restoration costs are prohibitive to any potential profits. Does anybody know what kind of shape the master for National Lampoon's Vacation is in? If anybody working for Warner Bros. reads these threads I would love to hear some insider info on it. I love this movie, and would buy a Blu-ray version in an instant!
