This 50" Vizio apparently comes with Dolby Vision at under $450. Seems a bit too good, I'm highly skeptical. I've had a Vizio 32" 1080p Vizio 37" 1080p and thought they were great for cheap. I trust Vizio. I know they do great products for the price, but this one seems so much better than all the other ones I've been looking at for under $500. I can't even find a halfway decent 43" for this price. Anyone with any thoughts?

Vizio is a good brand, but that is their lower end 4k model. I would recommend going with one of their higher end models, if you're looking to upgrade.

I have the 2017 model and I have to say I still notice an improvement with HDR (to the extent that I've bought over a dozen 4k disks and rented dozens of UHD titles) so far. It won't perform like the higher end panels but if that's your budget (it's mine) it's a pretty good display.

Analyzing the picture, I think what it does is more or less the retain the APL (so Goodfellas looks really good on this panel) but rolls off the highlights above what it can do (about 300 or so nits). Not ideal of course, but for less than 500 bucks you get a very nice experience with 4k blu-rays. You obviously can't expect the whole enchilada at that price point, otherwise no one would buy the higher end models.
