Please Help. This question has been bothering me since I bought my Sony BDP S1. I have a Lexicon MC12. It does NOT have HDMI connections. I have run the 5.1 analog outs from the S1 to the Lexicon. My question is when I choose PCM audio out from the S1 do I lose the back channels in my setup? I mean the discrete rear surrounds. I know that the Lexicon will output sound to the backs but I have a hunch that it is the same information that is being routed to the side surrounds. I have a 7.1 system but only 5.1 analog inputs. I know when I listen via bitstreem and choose DD plus I get the EX rear surrounds. I'm not sure if i would still be getting that information when I use the 5.1 analog inputs. When I put a test disk in the S1 and choose to test sounds through the rear speakers, all 4 surrounds come on. I'm so confused by this. Any input would be appreciated.
