‘IT’ Writer Penning ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ Movie for Paramount!

At long last, the ‘90’s TV series is becoming a movie!

Those who have found memories of being creeped out by Nickelodeon’s “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” in their childhoods will be happy to hear that Paramount Players is developing the property as a feature film, hiring hot horror writer Gary Dauberman (IT, Annabelle: Creation) to write the script.

“The show revolved around a group of teenagers who referred to themselves as The Midnight Society. Every week, at a secret location in the woods, one members would tell a scary story to the rest of the group, some of which were based on public domain fairy tales, short stories or urban legends.”

The exciting news comes courtesy of Tracking Board tonight, the site additionally noting that plot details are under wraps and Matt Kaplan is on board to produce.
