Default Which blue ray???

Hello everyone, I`ve decided to jump into the blue ray game and am not sure which one to with. I`m fairly ignorant of the technical aspects of blue ray. I`m reading the threads and it looks like the choice of either the sony 350 or 550 OR the pana 35 or 55.
I have an NAD t752 reciever with no hdmi, not looking to switch. My tv is Toshiba 62HMX 95 DLP. I`m using optical for my audio.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The PS3 is a good player. I'd go with that one for a first player. It is relieable and is really pretty good.

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2138 This link can be helpful in choosing player.

p.s. no "e" in blu ray

I'm assuming the receiver has 7.1ch analog inputs, correct? I would suggest the Sony S550 or Panny DMP-BD55 as they have analog outputs so that you can enjoy hd audio form your blus. The BD35, S350 and PS3 all have only stereo analog outputs and optical cannot handle the hd audio codecs or more than 2 channels of lpcm audio.

Welcome, You can't go wrong with the Sony. If this is your first player I would suggest the PS3. Oh, it's Blu-Ray not Blue Ray. LOL

I guess my greenness really does show Thanks for the quick replys but, I`m not really a gamer, so the ps3 is not in the mix.

If you wanted top notch, go Marantz or Denon.

But they are expensive. If too expensive, I would go with Sony S550

Or Yamaha.

Panasonic or Sony are two good choices.
Both companies are recommened to me form veterain members on this forum.

I personally would lean to Panasonic just for the simply fact that Higher end Blu-ray players use Panasonic Parts.
I would think Yamaha,Marantz and Pioneer know what there doing.
But both choices in companies are good

Good luck my friend
