I want to add a holder inside steelbooks for extra discs ie add the flipper middle bit you get inside Pinocchio/Snow White or to add a holder bit to the inside front cover if there isnt one already there
I'm not very good at describing what I want but a steel book that looks likes this ![]() can have bits added so they can hold disc's like these ![]() |

There are plastic hubs you can buy that stick on to plastic surfaces to create a single extra disc holder.
What you are showing though compares apples to oranges. The SLEEPING BEAUTY uses custom plastics that the 2012 does not. And the last picture of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is an IronPack, not a SteelBook. You can exchange SteelBook plastics and metal covers, but you can't swap amongst SteelBooks and IronPacks. Many people will use dented SteelBooks as parts and create hybrid SteelBooks with more or less disc holders. |

Only if the disc hubs are hollow in the middle and fit over the broken one, otherwise you would need a flat surface to adhere it to. Unless it is a special kind of case that is hard to replace, perhaps you should buy a few cases that you frequently use most often in bulk so you will at least have some spares.

I've done the two-disc hack for some of my steelbooks - I used clear eco cases, and just cut out the middle hub (along with the arms) so they look as clean as possible.
But what I'm wondering is if it's possible to somehow attach TWO hubs on a single side in a staggered configuration. Obviously, one would need to be higher than the other to accommodate two discs. Should be easy enough to add height by using a clear plastic washer; the SB would just need to be thick enough to allow it to close without the hubs and discs on either side coming into contact. The ideal solution is if the inner jacket of steelbooks could be easily removed, and replacements purchased - they could be made to hold 4 discs in a dual-staggered arrangement on each side. |

I tried the adhesive disc hubs, and they kept falling out. I would literally be sitting in my living room watching TV and hear a small *clink* as a disc and sticky hub fell.
I was able to buy a bunch of single-disc empty steelbooks recently and performed a multi-surgery last week. I sell off 3D discs and 4K discs, so I had a lot of dual disc cases that were holding one disc or triple disc trays that were holding two discs. I was able to pop off the steelbook plates and use a hair dryer on the spines to remove them and change them all up. Now almost all of my steelbook trays match the amount of discs that I have for each. ![]() |

I had success with actually swapping out the outer covers, and attaching them to a different case. I found some cheap 3 disc steelbooks and disassembled them. Then I attached the covers of the single disc sets to the 3 disc case. I put the spine in place using clear double sided sticky tape.
I think they came out great! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've noticed that some steelbook panels are harder to get off than others though. And if you end up bending the clipped in ends, they can be a pain to get back into their proper shape. |

The Steve Austin 4 movie set has always been the go to for a 4 disc inside.

Thanks for the replies! Both great options.
I'll have to keep that Steve Austin set in mind for future reference, as that will probably be easier to grab at a low price going forward. After posting, I did a search on Zavvi, and found that the 3D release of one of the Hobbit movies is a 4 disc set. I checked some youtube reviews and it has this kind of case layout. They had it for £9.99, and as part of a sale where you get 3 for £20. I ordered 6 copies, and it came out to a little under $60 in US dollars. So not too bad. |
