Default The Amazing Spider-Man 3 - 2018

Quote:
The tentpoles will hit theaters in summer 2016 and 2018.

Sony has set release dates for its third and fourth Amazing Spider-Man films, which hit theaters on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018, respectively.

The move sets the course for the marquee superhero franchise for the next five years.

The Amazing-Spider Man 2, returning Andrew Garfield in the title role, is currently in production in New York and opens in theaters may 2, 2014.

I have a feeling Sony and Webb have a very specific plan in mind, and that's why the release dates are set as is. I think we're in for something very special.

Loved the first one. Way better than Raimi's IMHO.

Fry's has the 3D version of the first movie listed on their site at $16.99. I got BBY to pm it earlier 2day. Huge price difference they had it for $34.99.

I guess you might be right considering how far in advanced these release dates have been announced. Wow.

Glad to see for once we're not being given the standard "planned trilogy" line from the director and writers. There's plenty of material to make a whole bunch of these. And based on the number of villains in Part 2, there's no way they should attempt to arbitrarily wrap it all up in the 3rd one. I'm also glad to see we're getting a new entry every other year. Way too many major film franchises seem to make us wait 3 or even 4 years for the sequel.

they have no choice if they don't make a spiderman movie every 2 years they lose the rights to Marvel.. Sony already said they will never let that happen hence the announcement today

They shouldn't number these if they're planning a whole bunch of them. Even Police Academy and Saw dropped the numbers after 6.

Don't they always do that until they come up with another name closer to release date? Kind of a tentative thing cuz they don't have anything else to call it?
