I'm stunned this is getting a release in Australia. Good on Ya Madman!
Not skimping on the special features either with a making of doco, commentary and the infamous radio play which the film is based off... Barbara Stanwyck also received an Oscar nomination for her part in the proceedings. A definite must buy for me!

Between this release and the upcoming Kino box set. I'm one happy Barbara Stanwyck fan!

Holy shit. There's no Blu of this anywhere in the world is there?

I don't often say day one, but day motha****ing one. This, Top Secret...how is Australia the country wiping out my DVD collection at this point?

Is the disc itself going to be limited, or just the packaging? The description seems to imply the latter.

So the release itself is limited to 1000 units, but the deluxe packaging is limited to 1500 units?

Those extras must mean a US label is putting this out and Madman have an arrangement to distribute the disc.

Which i Hope happens more often given the state of the dollar!

Yeah I doubt this is coming from Madman, the catalogue number starts with IMP, which isn't Madman or Via Vision (the listing of the special features has been updated sometime since yesterday). The "deluxe slipcover packaging" maybe a retailer exclusive?

Actually on reflection, as Waterloo has a Sheldon Hall interview and War of the Worlds has a Barry Forshaw commentary, both of whom Eureka in the UK utilise quite a bit, maybe these are all going to be Eureka releases in the UK and Madman is going to distribute the same disc here under their banner.

[imprint] must be a new sub-label (indeed, an imprint) for Madman, as with Eureka and Montage Pictures, Lionsgate and Vestron Video or (back in the DVD days) Peccadillo Pictures and Petit Peche. I’m sure there’s many other examples of labels doing this.

JB won't let me pre-order this for Click & Collect, only for shipping. Which is an extra $2.

Not cool.

I've never been able to click and collect a JB Hi-FI pre-order? How have others been able to do it?

Don't think you can click and collect until you are right upon the release date with JB. That was the case with the 4k STAR WARS release titles they have an exclusive on.

Well that sucks.

Delivery is probably better under the current circumstances anyway I guess.

Rather high I would think with the originating studio

Good stuff. Is this its BD debut? I wonder why the other distributers out there have seemingly glanced/passed over it.

Really can't understand why Eureka (who have released Paramount titles before) or Indicator aren't picking these up for the UK, as nicely fit their genre of titles. Not really something for Arrow as their main focus is horror not classic films or noir.

Arrow imo are actually great for classic noir and classic films which is what Arrow Academy is for.

Yeah agreed. They have a very good representation of film noir in their Arrow Academy line. The Killers, The Killing, Killer’s Kiss, Woman on the Run, Too Late for Tears, The Blue Dahlia, The Glass Key, Thieves’ Highway, The Naked City, Brute Force, etc.

Arrow puts out tons of classic films. It’s only the Arrow Video line that puts out horror.

This appears to #2 in a new Imprint series of 10 (so far) from Via Vision. Pretty impressive lineup, but it sucks that they don't appear to include SDH at these premium prices.

Imprint said that all but Waterloo of the initial 5 will have subtitles. Not sure if SDH or not.
