best dvds on upconversion players - Blu-ray Forum

can anyone recommend some dvds that look great on upconversion players. I cant afford a hd or bluray player yet. I blew all my money on the new sony 60". I have the sony upconversion player.

I just bought the Sony upconversion player a few months ago and love it. So far from the DVD's that I have played, I like Underworld: Evolution and Star Wars Episode III. Both of those look fantastic on this player. I bought the Sony 50" SXRD TV back in April and I think it's great. Just waiting on the Sony Blu-ray player now!

Sin City
Spiderman 1 & 2 (Superbit)
Leon: The Professional (Superbit)
King Kong <-- Has its moments

I'm sure I have others, just can't think if them right now, since I got rid of all of my DVDs.

Anything that looks good regular will just look better upconverted. I haven't seen a turd turn out decent yet via upconvert. Upscale just seems to clean up the picture. It helps the LOTR movies alot btw.

King Kong looks killer upsampled.

Conan the Barbarian looks cool, I just wished the soud was better.

Superbit DVDs will probably look cool too.

I own every SuperBit DVD produced and going through my Sony Upsampling DVD Player, they look outstanding. I'm viewing them on my Sony 60" SXRD XBR HDTV with a native resolution of 1920x1080. Now for my 1080p player, be it PS-3 or BDP-S2. I'm ready !!!
