Default Blu-ray statistics

Can anyone provide a good source for current stats regarding market share of BD in the home video market. It may now be the standard, but I think it still has quit a relativley small market share compared to dvd.Wonder if its even more popular than vhs.

And how does BD, or the HD discs in general compare to how fast dvd took over vhs?, what's its current adoption rate compared to dvd in the past.

Do you mean you wouldn't expect a format that's been available for over a decade to have a great lead over a format that's been around less than 2 years?

EDIT: I'm glad the people below me can provide the stats. I can't cut and paste from the PS3.

Combined, Blu-ray and HD DVD past VHS in August 2007: Blu-ray, HD DVD topple VHS sales

Considering the growth of Blu-ray in Q4, and continued deterioration of VHS, I would expect Blu-ray is now ahead of VHS.

Unlike this format war, the DVD v. Divx one was very lopsided and it lasted less than a year. And the industry wasn't worried that format war was actually contributing to declining overall revenues as people held off purchasing anything.

1998 v. 2007 would be the comparative years:

Warner Home Video DVD U.S. Gross Sales Exceed $170 Million; 1998 Sales Soar 240 Percent Over Previous Year DVD Accounts for over 18 Percent of Total Fourth Quarter Gross U.S. Sell-Through Sales

DVD feels first sting of slipping sales

Quote:
As for high-definition discs, so far they amount to about 1% of the home-video market (about $300 million).
So, HDM is a very small piece of a much bigger pie. So, it depends on how you look at things.

the hd market has been growing faster then the dvd market not by alot but around 20% faster then dvd did. also media(blu-ray) sales were makking studios all together around 300 million for blu-ray dvd made around 24.5 billion so its like hd sales count for around 1.3% of the market the blu-ray disc association said at ces that media sales with gain to 1 billion by next january.
