Need Help Figuring Out What Movie This Is??

Ok the movie goes something like this: 2 teenage girls either start crank calling people or doing something by phone, they eventually start talkin this older guy. The girl pretends to be her mom and even sets up to go out on a date with this guy. But for whatever reason the girls think its a joke or whatever. So the night they are suppose to go out. the daughter goes to spend the night at her friends house and leaves the mom home alone. The guy shows up and attacks the mom and events start happening. The girl comes home and starts apologizing to mom for starting being responsible for the man going to the house. Does this ring a bell?? Thanks!! Got Em!!

Well Im here allday at work so its no skin off my back, but with all these horro fans I would hope with the description I gave someone would be able to help me out!! oh well guess Ill just have to luck up on this one!! It was a great movie to!! I thought it was either When A Stranger Calls or Never Talk To Strangers but those arent it!! Got Em!!

It is not the 1965 version. It could be the 88 version however when i read the plot, it seems a bit off as it didnt mention the killer trying to kill the girls mother in her home!! But its been a while since I saw this so I will look into getting the 1988 version anyway!! Thanks! Still not sure if u are right, but since its close enough u win the right to use "Got Em!!" freely for a day!! haha!! Got Em!!
