Default The Punisher!

I just saw the Punisher for the first time and it was on Blu-ray. Wow, what an action movie. RECOMMENDED and It was only $14 at my local Wal-Mart.

lol my opinion is exactly the opposite. Enjoyable movie but pretty bad Blu-ray presentation.

Yeah I agree, I was excited about the sequel til I saw the trailer. Just looks stupid to me.

As far as the original I thought it was a good movie. I thought AQ was great, for lossy that is, and the PQ was decent.

I just ordered it from Amazon.com. I liked the movie but never did buy it on dvd. I kept putting it off for some reason, so it was an obvious choice for me.

I liked the movie and thought the blu-ray was pretty good. IMO, not nearly as bad as what most people say.

just bought this on amazon cause it was real cheap and i sold off my dvd
copy some time ago already.
right after the purchase i checked out the blu review on this site and
was shocked how bad the picture quality looks on the screens!
it even received 3.5 picture points, i would have given like 2.0.
i have to check out the real deal, but just from those screens i would say it is one of the worst blu transfers i have seen. completely soft picture!
normally i check reviews before purchases, but i wanted the movie
in my collection anyway. thumbs way down lionsgate though!

yeah it was revived because i figured more people will buy it at waltmart for 5bucks, or on amazon for 7.
just looked at the screens from the review again: horrible!!
guess the chance of lionsgate making a new transfer for this one are less than zero though.

Has the UK edition got a better transfer? Maybe I dreamed that I had read that somewhere

I have it and yes, it's a better transfer. A healthy amount of grain and strong black levels. Very filmlike transfer. The audio is also TrueHD and it features all of the DVD extras. It's pretty cheap too, under $20. It's region free.

Unfortunately, that doesn't look like the extended cut. Fine if you like the theatrical, but I thought the additional scenes really rounded out the movie better and gave more background that helped the picture out.

I like my DVD (and the awesome case too), so I don't plan on upgrading until a proper Blu-ray release with all the bonus content and extended cut are included. The U.S. Blu-ray release is just not enticing at all to me; which is too back because I really like the film.

The additional scenes were lacking for me and unnecessary. The opening would have been a nice addition had they actually shot it, but the rest of the stuff felt like filler.
