The acclaimed Sicario and some other crap have next generation audio (also was on the last generation)

Pretty much any of the scenes worthwhile are almost completely CGI...which is a large % of the movie.

CGI actually upscales and takes to hdr better than regular shots.

I think you guys are going to be shocked when you see CGI that is hdr graded. The best example I have is the Smurfs 2 hdr on amazon. Only a few people bought this at avs (on my recommendation for visuals), but those that did agreed with my assessment that it was visually the best they'd seen. The actual Smurfs themselves looked pretty unreal in both detail/dimension/ and color, like you've never seen before. The hdr brought out detail that was nowhere to be found in the SDR netflix version even though it was also 4k.

Yea, the spiderman hdr version doesn't move me much. It looked good but nowhere near Smurfs 2 or after earth hdr. But last time I checked, there was no crappy CGI spiderman zipping around the Enders Game set.

The same is found on Blu-Ray. Effects that look pretty convincing on DVD can look shoddy on Blu-Ray because the higher resolution makes it easier to spot flaws in the effects. It will probably be a decade or 2 until CGI exists that indistinguishable from live action at any resolution

That CGI was made for a huge theatrical screen, so I don't think a 4k disc really changes much. The CGI just looks dated because it IS dated. Same for all the obvious wires and opticals of old movies, that stuff was obvious in theaters and now it's obvious again thanks to HD (let alone new 4k scans).

Its why computer animators are so reluctant to render in 4k. Both because doing so increases the time and costs by 4 times which obviously is a big issue but also because on top of that the higher resolution makes flaws in the animation they struggle to hide easier to spot
