Love this movie, one of my most wanted upgrades. I can't say that Mill Creek is my dream choice to release it, but excited to finally swap out my old DVD regardless.

Now that Paramount is in a pretty decent flow of releasing back catalog titles, it would be awesome to finally get Jay-Z's Fade To Black as well.

I haven't seen this in quite a while, and I even have the unrated DVD. It looks like this Blu-ray will only be the theatrical cut though. Is there a big difference between the two versions?

Says unrated and 110 minutes, the same length listed on the former DVD.

Thanks, the DVD had Unrated across the megaphone and this site had the time frame as 103 minutes

It appears the original version was 103 minutes, but the back of the DVD says it's 110 minutes, just like this new BD. I imagine whoever originally added the DVD to the site didn't have all the info and assumed the original length.

The rating logos really bug me, and the uniformity of my collection. I would have to make a custom cover or something of that nature.

I own a few Umbrella releases, like their Punisher release which even has reversible art, but it still bugs me that their is a rating logo on the disc. Yes, first world problems, but doesn't change the fact that it's something I can't overcome mentally at a 100% level.

If it's a movie I truly love, (and I mean love) I'll buy the international version if I believe there won't be a US release. I'd rather not deal with the mental annoyance if it can be helped. I'm pretty sure Half Baked will get a US release soon enough, either from Kino, Shout, or Mill Creek.

I gotta admit, I just want the disc with the movie and extras. I've never cared about the slipcover or case or anything else. The only time I ever look at the rest of it is the 10 seconds of taking it off the shelf and taking out the disc to play it. I appreciate a pretty package, but that appreciation lasts for just seconds, unlike the movie itself.

Yeah, I can get that. For me the box is important. I enjoy my film collection actually feeling like a library of books in a way. I like to have a nice cover, etc. That's just me. My life would be much more simple if I didn't care about stuff like this.

Yeah, just like the folks who won't buy from the UK, Germany, etc. cuz huge ratings (or as they call it, "classification") logos are required on the package & disc.

I have an unrated full-screen DVD (listed here only as the unrated widescreen version), plus the rated streaming version in HD; an unrated, widescreen BD should be an improvement. If there's ANY Mill Creek disc that deserves lossless audio it oughta be this one (especially since The Fugees' reunion was left off the soundtrack CD for legal reasons), but from the comments on the news item that may be too much to wish for from Mill Creek.

Hint: The lineup was so packed that even now EGOT winner John Legend can't get his name on the cover, probably because he was just a featured artist on one song with Kanye West (back in the day -- intentional Erykah Badu shout-out -- when he was still relevant) & Common (with whom Legend would later win his Oscar).
