First Time Online Player - Blu-ray Forum

I just got my PS3 and I would like to try and play online (NBA 2K8). How do I go about doing so? Are there certain lobbies I have to enter? Sorry for the newb questions.

Great question, and there is lots of information about this in general and for specific games up on the playstation website (www.us.playstation.com if you are here in the US, other regions/countries are there as well).

Long and short, connect your PS3 so that it can connect to the internet (hopefully via broadband, otherwise, you aren't going to have much of an experience), sign up for a free Playstation Account via the system, add whatever firmware updates the system requires, throw the disc in and go online and play (most have "multiplayer" or "online" as options in the menuing system and prompt you to either create a game or search for one based upon a number of criteria)... Please note that there have been several individual game updates due to added features in the XMB, so the game may require a download to your hard drive as well.

Welcome aboard, and if you ever fancy Resistance or Rock Band, there are plenty of us online at all hours of the day and night!

For the ulitmate online experience go with Call Of Duty 4. It's way enjoyable and going up in ranks and getting new guns/attachments is addicting.

Here is the best advice i can give u. Trade in your basketball game and go out and get cod 4 it is the sickest game and online ud have a sick time
(unless u play aginst me and u will die).
