Every BLASTED single time i play online with my ps3 i ALWAYS get thrown off. Help plz - Blu-ray Forum

Hi, i am sorry if this has already been covered and has a thread but for some reason everything i have read and tried hasnt worked

. so i was wondering if anyone here could do me the best favour in the world and help me out with this as i am literally pulling my hair out. I have had the ps3 since september last year and for about excately ONE YEAR i have been trying to fix the problem but cant find it. I have been trying from 8.00AM today till now to try and fix it but i just cant find a solution so please someone help me fix this and i will be ETERNALLY greatful, LITERALLY lol. Anyway here is what i have.

PS3 - 60GB.

Netgear - DG834G V3 (latest firmware)

Using a Wireless Connection (The router is 3 feet away from the PS3 and signal strength is 100%)

Media Server for PS3 Disabled.

I don't have any problems connecting to the internet through my router its just when i get on i play a game online and i lose the connection every 30 minutes or sometimes just randomly in which you can imagine is VERY VERY annoying.

Thanks to anyone who helps and reply will be on till late to try and sort it out so any help from people reading this i am willing to give anything a go as i have just given up.

Btw my i lose my internet connection even when am not playing my ps3 it comes back after like 1 or 2 minutes apolgies for any confusion

what does your ps3 say your nat type is?

(to figure out go to "test connection")

If it's 3 feet away, run a cable to it and see if it does the same thing. 100% strength or not if there's something else interfering, it could drop out.

And i used to have it wired but i had to move it because i moved my tower

have you tried pinging an internet site in your PC and watching the response while your PS3 disconnects? just curious if your PC loses connection also

When im not playing my ps3 and im just browsing the internet or on msn or w.e my router is fine its just when i play online on my ps3 after 20 minutes or so it just loses the connection it comes back after like 1 minute but thats no good lol i get dc'ed from the game

I was hard wired up to 3 days ago and when it was hard wired it still disconnected every 20 minutes or so

could just be the router maybe? this one has got me stumped, and i've had loads of problems with my routers in the past. purchased a linksys N draft (79.99 from amazon) and havent had a problem since! been about 3 months so far without even needing me to refresh it.

I used to have a D-Link G604T and that Lost connection when i went online with my PS3 aswell ..

Have you set up a Static IP on your PS3 and Router. Do you have TCP 80, 443, 5223 and UDP 5223, 3478, 3479 & 3658 set up for Port Forwarding? If not, this is a good walk through for a Linksys. http://www.pregamelobby.com/forum/so...-your-ps3.html Should be some help on your router.

I have a similar issue but for me it's my PS3 drops every time at least once when i try to play online and i have to unplug my router and replug it and than everything is OK. Quite weird but haven't figured out why.

Sorry i made a mistake my router drops the internet connection aswell even when i am not using my ps3 apologies for the confusion

Have you connected the PS3 straight to the Modem?

Yeah i have hard wired it from the ps3 to the netgear router

This used to happen to me alot and I noticed the cable modem was resetting every once in a while. The cable company came right over and replaced it.

Not the router. Wire it to the Modem. See if you still have the problem.

I don't have a modem. Its built in, inside the router i think im 99.9% sure it is ..

EDIT : Just googled it yes it is built in .. "Netgear DG834G v3 ADSL Modem/Router"
