Like Star Wars Battlefront II?

I also have other games that could have been played online, but I never got the online attachment for my PS2.

Can you do it using the 80 Gig MGS4 PS3?

Yes, in fact, the one of the first things I did when I got the PS3 was throw Battlefront 2 in. (I wanted to check the "upscaling" for PS2 games also.) I never had online capabilities either till I got my PS3.

There was one other guy online in the game - but it worked just fine.

as long as you dont have the 40gb then yes you can

I know that MGS3 online would detect my wireless settings and setup a network config on my PS3 and everything, and then it gave me an error message (The MGS3 servers are offically closed, thats why it gave me the error).

I heard it depends on the game, some games, actually don't detect wireless and only ethernet.
