I made a new thread because this is not specifically about the movie. When I turned it on there were dots on the top and bottom of the screen 4 of them like this.
. . . . . . . . They went away went I hit select on my ps3 controller to check info, but came back when i closed the info. Was like that through most of the movie. Never have seen anything like that before. Was not on top gun i played right before either. sony bravia kdlw3000, ps3, and a Onkyo 875. Anyone else see anything like this. They were perfect like the dots i typed. ![]() |

I only saw it on Doomsday. The dots i believe were different colors. I am old enough to have acid flashbacks but i never had flashbacks from it before.
![]() My wife saw it too. So did my 12 year old. I have the 80 gig ps3 that came with motorstorm. Last edited by SkullPhyre; 07-31-2008 at 12:43 AM. |

Maybe your residence is haunted. The paranormal usually leaves something behind to tell you something.

The colored dots is a sign of graphical artifacting. It may be a sign of things to come and will happen more frequently. It was the same problem my PS3 had and got to the point where it needed to be repaired.

It wasn't an acid flashback. I saw them too. It's not specific to the PS3 either as I got them on the Panny BD30 which is hooked up to a front projector. The dots appear at the outside edges of the black bars which places them right at the top and bottom edge of the screen. No idea what they are, but it appears they are encoded right into the image. Very strange...

Just tried to reproduce this, but on my other setup (PS3 and 1080i plasma) and did not get the dots. I'll throw it back on the pj later and see if it comes back.
The "loading" message is very small and right in the center of the screen. I didn't see any strange dots anyplace while the disk was loading. Maybe it's a 1080p and/or 24 fps thing? The dots were definetly there during the whole movie when I watched it. Distracting too as I kept focusing on them to see if they were still there. What they appeared to be was some kind of reference marks that maybe got left on the final encode. At least that was my first thought. |

At least yours plays. I get all the way up to the menu screen on my Sony BDP-S300 and when I hit "play" the FBI threat and the glorious Universal logo go by, then right when the movie should start, my whole player turns off and restarts again. Exchanged the disc and the same thing happens. Went to a friend's house with the same player model and the same thing happens. I sent away for the latest firmware update, so I hope that fixes the trouble. Didn't know if it was something with the new Universal discs and that whole "U-Control" feature that might be hosing things up. Any similar problems with the Mummy anyone?

On my bd-p1500 I didnt see any dots, but I cant get rid of the word bonusview in the upper left hand corner. Theres another guy with the same issue on here. Im wondering if its a 1500 thing and Ive found no way to get rid of it. Well yeah I did, i shut the f....g thing off.

OK I have the 1500 as well and had the same stupid bonus view thing on my screen. I tried to find a way through the menus to get rid of it and couldnt. The button on the remote didnt help either. What I did find is if you stop the dvd, and start it, it goes away. You may have to try it a couple times because I know once time I paused, it went to the screen saver, and hit play, it was still there. So try stopping and starting.
