Great News! LatinoReview.com is reporting that Cap will be faithful to the comics and NO Mathew McConaughey!!

After Iron Man’s success, Marvel has set a release date for 2011. When asked about the time period, Feige said they would stay faithful to the comic and stick to the World War 2 period.

Also confirmed was the rumored Captain America shield that is visible in Iron Man, saying it was meant more as an easter egg and doesn’t have anything more to do with the each other.

And whether or not Mathew McConaughey was being considered for the part of Captain America, Feige gave a resounding “absolutely false”.

Well I for one am relieved. I can’t imagine Matthew as a superhero…sorry dude!

This sounds GREAT!!!!! Just as long they don't use that Ultimate Captain America costume CRAP!!!!!!! Also, cast somebody menacing as the Red Skull, maybe Ralph Fiennes............

Wow I watched Iron Man but don't recall seeing the Captain America shield. Which scene is it in?

Wow im surrpised they didnt screw us with having a present day Captain. I bet he will be frozen at the end right before Avengers later that summer

I agree. I posted in another thread that I would end it with him getting frozen and then have the scene after the credits having someone coming into Nick Fury exclaiming, "WE FOUND HIM SIR!"

"Who?"

"STEVE ROGERS...CAPTAIN AMERICA!"

Then having Fury turn to another agent and say, "It's Time."

Yeah that sounds perfect....But what would happen with a sequel to Captain? Because I really dont want the Captain movies seperate from the Avengers. I want the end of CA to be the beginning of the next month Avenger movie

I think the Avengers would start with Cap coming to the realization that he's been frozen for X years. It would probably be close to how the first Ultimate storyline went (in the beginning). Either way, I'm glad they're looking to do this one right. Marvel seems to be on the ball.

The funny thing is that I haven't bought comics for over 15 years. I just love what they are doing with the movies (both DC and Marvel). This will be the greatest year for comic movies yet...

Yeah Marvel more than DC because DC really doesnt have any impressive movies besides BB and TDK in the last few years. Marvel if Iron Man is just a taste, there is alot of great things they can do.

Is Punisher a reboot? Unfortunetly it got pushed back to Dec. But I didnt know it was a reboot. I thought it was just a totally differant direction but still post first movie

From what I read, they are totally ignoring the first film (I don't know if they're going to re-do an origin) so it may not be a reboot in that sense.

Yeah I read somewhere that Punisher2 well not punisher 2, but you know what I mean, is after his families death but a whole differant take to his character...I cant wait though. Besides Daredevil and Elecktra Ive loved every movie Marvel has brought out

Yeah, I forgot about Hulk, but it wasnt in Elecktra or Daredevils class of terriblism
