Hey,
I was just wondering being a BD exclusive member. Which exclusive HDDVD studio would you rather switch to BD first? And why? I would rather see Paramount/DW switch first. Because the big releases they will have for 2008 like Iron Man and Indiana Jones. Last edited by Lord_Stewie; 02-09-2008 at 01:43 PM. |

That's a good argument, indeed. However, I do like the Bourne movies, too, and would enjoy having all three in Blu.
Fortunately, whichever studio goes Blu first, the other will likely follow very quickly. With Warner, it signalled that the war was virtually over. With one of the other two going Blu (even neutral for a short time), the other isn't going to be the last to hold out for long. |

I can see your point there definately, Universal have a huge back catalogue of titles as well as Hellboy 2 coming out but short term there's no doubt that with Indy 4, Star Trek and Iron Man I've got to say Paramount for the year ahead.

If one studio is switching, the other will follow pretty soon.
But in case... I would say Universal... then you have a biiiiiiiiiiig cat in the bag... ![]() |

We would get a lot more titles from Universal than we would from Paramount. Outside of day and date titles Paramount just hasn't released a lot on either Blu-ray or HD DVD. Universal likes dumping random catalog titles which would make for better overall selection.

Doesn't matter. Either defection would spell the end of HD DVD and we'd get both sooner rather than later.
On the other hand, if I absolutely had to pick, I'd rather have Paramount/Dreamworks come over first. I'd love to have Bourne, Star Trek, and Spielberg titles on Blu-ray. Last edited by Alloye; 02-10-2008 at 01:50 AM. |
