Spacewalk 3D Blu-ray Steelbook

Stumbled upon this one. Has anyone watched this in 3D? Any good?

Movie reviews pretty decent:

Yes, the 3D is amazing. However there are no English subtitles if you require them. But just for the 3D itself I think it is worth watching, even if you any no clue of what they are saying.

Thanks. Found a couple of English subs on subscene.com & opensubtitles.com. Hmm, mulling over if worth risking a buy.

I keep wondering if there is a legit way of playing the 3D blu-ray on my pc and load an srt file with english subtitles.
I can also recommend the movie Salyut 7 which also has amazing 3D. That one I got the russian edition and the 3D is also amazing.

I have it but couldn’t follow the storyline at all. Action and animation films are fairly easy to follow w/o knowing the language but sci-Fi is often all about the details. If you are able to add English subtitles like others have done please let me know!

Why is there no English subtitle version yet?

This is supposed to be really good.

I stumbled across Spacewalker several months back and would have scooped it up had it included subs. Ditto now about Salyut 7, which I did not know about (and thanks for the heads-up, Grazina!)

Another Russian (or at least Baltic state) 3D film I'd love to get my hands on in subbed form would be the beautifully photographed and creepy monster-in-the-woods entry Synevir. You can find gorgeous 3D trailers of it on YouTube.

I mean how much would it cost them to put on more subtitles, it is not like they would lose money, in fact they are leaving money on the table by not doing this.

I have this 3d blu and some subs I found online. I'll combine them over the holidays and let you know if they work, I've been meaning to do so but I started with Attraction and watched that one first.

You probably all own this movie in one form or another, but MPI has recently released Spacewalker in the US with dual Russian (subtitled) and English (dubbed) audio and a few extras. Site review is up too!

Not surprising, since Region A 3D releases are pretty much non-existent these days.

Still...

Well, I could buy the 3D edition along with this newly released one in English and play the audio from it while watching the 3D from the other. Sort of like the first vitaphone films. But that would mean disconnecting the HDMI cable from my 3D player from the receiver and directly into the TV.

And both would have to be exact length otherwise it could become The Dueling Cavalier ala Singing in the Rain.

Spacewalker is a great movie, but the 3D is super flat and conservative. I recommend getting into muxing your own custom 3D files, but not necessarily for this film.

Anyone interested, Capelight are shipping these again. I'll post sub's once I have mine and I've sorted them.

One person says the 3D is amazing, one says it’s super flat and conservative. Whom to believe…

Salyut 7 is even worse 3D. Can't recommend these Russian space films just for the 3D--only if you're interested in the story. The Viy series has pretty good 3D, especially Iron Mask, and Stalingrad is alright.
