Decent film - I had no idea what it was about going in. I thought it was your standard ww2 drama but it's actually Mad Max: Fury Road with submarines. Relentless pacing. Should look good on disc as well, the stream was quite good.

I absolutely loved it. Great war thriller! It really hit the spot for my Saturday movie night. Much better than Midway but not as nice to look at.

Tom Hanks drives this movie. Without him, it doesn’t work. The CGI is terrible.

If anything this is going to be a Euro only release that is only happening thanks to a previously made deal like that original Iron Man trilogy. No way Apple paid $70 million for this only to have it show up on home video before Christmas.

You have to remember Sony did this to recoup cost from a lost theatrical run and $70 million barely covers the production costs... Not sure what had been spent on marketing before being sold to Apple.

The budget was apparently $50 million. So they paid more to cover other expenses (and surely Tom Hanks' bonus).

But if you have to double the budget to break even, then $70 million doesn't even begin to cover it.
