The audio of the movie is very good. It really complemented the theme of the movie. I expect the LFE of the HD version to be really awesome.

You're right, the PQ might be really good, but who actually wants to watch that in HD. I own the DVD, I have watched the movie a total of three times and to me, it has not gotten any easier to watch. I don't think that I would like to see it in HD.

Instant buy for me. They could announce for Palm Sunday week release, but I doubt it will be this year unless we hear something very, very soon.

I'm not a religious person but the movie itself was fantastic and would make an excellent release for blu-ray. Its a powerful film plus the audio gets pretty loud at times. I've been wanting to get this on blu-ray too and it will someday.

It should have a good picture quality and I'll buy it if it comes out as I saw it in the theatre and I thought Gibson did a good job on it. It's not for the faint of heart.

Beyond that, I'm not getting involved in the "discussion".

I really thought this movie was really well done. I do agree that it is a very difficult film to watch as is Schindler's List. But there are some movies that I will always own just because of the way the content of the story was presented with great care. Not just with the sound and picture quality but the attention to detail with the characters and the narrative structure. Even if you aren't that religious, I for one am not very religious, it is a very good movie and I would buy it on Blu-ray disc as long as we get the same features as the special edition that was double dipped. And yes, BigRick, I too would love to see Count of Monte Cristo on Blu. That's one of my favorites. "He who seeks vengeance must dig two graves."

I would purchase this one. The thing is I was only able to see it in the theaters and could not stomach watching this one again on DVD.
