Passion of the Christ - Spanish BD

Passion of the Christ has been released on Blu-ray a couple of days ago, but I'm not sure if it is 1.78:1 or 2.35:1 ?
Dvdgo for example lists 1.78:1 and this is not the original aspect ratio.
Other sites list 2.35:1 .
I found a spanish forum discussing this issue but I can't understand a word.
When I look at the two photo's it seems that the image is 1.78:1 and that is a shame !
But maybe there's an option to watch it in 2.35:1 as well??
Anyone who understands Spanish and can tell more about it??

The guy says he has both the dvd and bd versions and he is saying that the bars have been taken out....that its been made to a 16:9 format...same as apocalypto....therefore its been cut and take some of the picture out....

But Apocalypto has never been 2.35:1 or has it?

oh sorry, the numbering he mentioned were confusing so i think he said they made it into 16:9

As you can see in the images of thread they cropped the image to fill in the whole screen. I wouldn't import this movie until it comes out to the US with the approriate aspect ratio.

Okay, well making 1.85:1 to 1.78:1 isn't that much picture loss.
But in case of Passion of the Christ making 2.35.1 to 1.78:1 is almost cutting 1/3 of the picture. I guess I'll wait for a decent release then. Thanks.
