I'd also be down for Act of Violence. Got the DVD not long ago, almost hoping it would jinx it and give us an upgrade... but not yet. Fingers crossed.

It's about time! One of the most underrated films noirs of the 40s finally gets a decent release, so there's virtually no chance it'll get to the UK. May have to import it and pay the Brexit tax.

(Trivia - the original novel was about homophobia not antisemitism, but was too controversial for 40s Hollywood)

I've been holding my breath for a BD for years! People often cite it as a poor cousin to Gentleman's Agreement since both came out the same year and tackle anti-Semitism. Crossfire may be a cheaper production, but it's actually a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining thriller that doesn't sacrifice style for the sake of substance. Agreement is just the opposite - a long and preachy slog in which no one talks or acts remotely like a real human being and the "plot" is there just to give a pulpit to the moral which is presented so naively that one thinks the target audience was children... Anyway, I'm pleased as punch and sure that WAC has given Crossfire their usual love and attention which it certainly deserves!
