I knew Citizen Kane was going to be number one before I even finished reading the god d**n article headline. Apparently cinema peaked in 1941. Does Citizen Kane routinely get the number one spot simply by proxy? Or because your college film professor used it as the focal point of every f***ing lecture? Is it written in the 10 commandments? Is the name Orson Welles inscribed in the Dead Sea scrolls? Is the Illuminati using this movie to take over the world? Did America enter World War II because Adolph Hitler didn't like Citizen Kane? Is watching Citizen Kane the amount of times based on your year of birth AFTER the movie released to be a requirement in order to be a film critic? Did Nostradamus predict that Citizen Kane would be best movie of all time before film even existed? Did the Mayan Calendar stop in 2012 because they thought that was the year people would stop believing Citizen Kane was best movie of all time? You'd think by how utterly overrated and overstated Citizen Kane is that it has the power to cure cancer and that Orson Welles was a f***ing modern day superhuman A.I. polymath that made Albert Einstein look like an amoeba. Citizen Kane always seems to take top spot so I guess there is a reason it always keeps on getting top spot.
Who cares what gets top spot anyway does it change what your favourite movie is? Most top 100 lists are subjective anyway. In less you are talking about athletes. |

Taste is subjective. A lot of people like it. You make it almost sound like your life is ruined. It's no news that it is often high on top lists. But this list is aggregated from Metacritic, so it is just based on positive scores. It is what it is.

The greatest film ever made is clearly Batman V Superman.

What the **** is the problem with Citizen Kane being #1? It's a completely legitimate assertion, even if one disagrees with it. It's one of the most analyzed movies ever, if not the most, so instead of throwing a ridiculous temper tantrum how about reading some of the stuff written about it and see the arguments in favor of the movie?
