Rocketman is being released for the first time on Blu-ray as a DMC exclusive, available starting 2/27/18 :

Exclusive rights for sale are to Disney Movie Club Members but surely other copies will go for an increased price on 3rd party sites.
[Meaning this will NOT be sold in stores at any time soon, regardless of what people claim otherwise on here

].

All in all, people average about 8-9 Disney (or Disney-owned) titles for anywhere from $78-90 depending on how it's planned out and what specials are happening.

Another 90s live-action release! I know this wasn't super popular, but I enjoyed it as a kid. I'll be happy to replace my DVD.

I thought this was one of the funniest movies I'd ever seen when I watched it in the theater as a kid. But, I just watched it again a few months ago on HBO (it's streaming on there in HD still, I think), and nostalgia blinders were gone, and it's pretty bad! I still laughed a few times, particularly at the John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt sequence and the part with him swinging the stuffed chimp around in the background of a scene after it bites him in the finger.

It's not George of the Jungle! That one holds up. You'll probably still laugh a few times with this one, though.

I was really hoping we would get some more Walt-era films on Blu-ray since we just got Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. I really think that films like The Great Locomotive Chase, Summer Magic, Third Man on the Mountain, and Follow Me Boys should be on Blu-ray before this.

This was a fun movie, William Sadler was a great straight man to Harland Williams.

still one of my favorite movies, been waiting for this blu release for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time! i've even made a thread or 2 about it. Unfortunately, i'm not a DMC member anymore... I bought all the Disney movies i wanted at the time and cancelled. It would be hard talking my wife into letting me spend 25$ on this movie anyway, I still own the DVD at least.

Finally!!! Rocketman on Blu-ray! This movie is hilarious! "Guess I should have skipped that liverwurst and headcheese sandwich!" My favorite Harland Williams character.

To say Im a fan of this movie and Harland williams would be a gross understatement. So much show that I made 2 different trailers for this movie.

I just checked DMC, it's up now, but, no technical details, no back cover pic or anything.

I would assume it's 1.85:1, since the iTunes HD version I bought back in 2014, (because I didn't think it'd come to blu), is 1.85:1.

It will be. A similar example is that while the US DVD of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" was pan-and-scan, the DMC exclusive BD was in proper widescreen.

I tried watching this movie on Google play movies and barely made it through. Must be a 90's thing. I appreciate that there is a fanbase for this movie but obviously I'm not it. That said, I can think of many more movies deserving of DMC blu-ray exclusives than this.

Comparing scenes and the aspect ratio from my DVD and Blu-ray copies seemed to show that you gain a bit in width, but lose some of the height. A lot of scenes looked zoomed in when I watched the Blu-ray, and makes me wonder if they shot and framed it with more intention toward full screen adaptations.
