So happy to see a new announcement finally! While it certainly won't appease everyone, I really am loving these deep cuts that Disney is offering up on Blu-ray.

I must say I am happy to see ANYTHING come out of Disney these days from the live action cannon. But....this title? Really?? Who is in charge of these decisions, and what on earth are they thinking? Are they totally oblivious about the Disney library of classic, DESIRABLE titles, and for some reason chose obscure B titles with no following or chance of making a profit?? I so wish we had some insider source (like MisterLime with Kino Lorber) to help us make some sense out of what Disney is thinking. It is almost like they have some person who is out to end Disney's physical media support by purposely selecting titles that will ensure that outcome. Is there absolutely no oversight within this branch of Disney's empire where some rational player can intercede and say, "wait...We have titles like "20,000 Leagues," "Darby O'Gill," "The Parent Trap" etc, etc, and this is your recommendation?? Where are we going with this segment of our business? One has to wonder....so sad..

Where the hell are The Black Hole, The Watcher In The Woods, Something Wicked This Way Comes or The Journey Of Natty Gann (which has never received a widescreen version on DVD)? These are visually striking films that would actually benefit from an HD remastering, not some dopey kid's comedy from the 70's.

This is great news! One of the classic era live-action Disneys. I haven't seen this in decades. I just realized it was directed by Andrew V. McLaglen, a versatile director who worked in many genres. He is known mostly for his westerns and action films where he frequently collaborated with James Stewart and John Wayne. Among his body of work are some of my favorite films. He is the son of Vic McLaglen, a famous character actor who starred in so many John Ford movies. In fact, Andrew grew up around movie sets and was taken under the wing of John Ford, who made him assistant director of The Quiet Man.

For those unfamiliar with Andrew McLaglen, he also directed:

Shenandoah
The Devil's Brigade
McLintock!
Hellfighters
The Undefeated
Cahill, U.S. Marshall
Chisum
Bandolero!
The Wild Geese

It's a 1967 movie, not from the 1970s. It stars Dean Jones, who made so many great classic era Disney films, and the delectable Yvette Mimieux. You are entitled to your opinion of it being a dopey kid's film (so many enjoyable Disney live action and animated films could be called that), but just mouthing off makes you sound ignorant.

I also want the movies you listed.

Disney, Go Home!

Seriously, Disney marketing knows the movies we want on Blu-ray better than we do ourselves. Think about it, deep down you know this is *the* Disney movie you have been waiting for on Blu-ray.

It is an undeniable fact

If you care to check out streaming services, it looks nearly flawless in HD on Amazon Video, practically Blu-ray quality. vudu looks ok too but amazon has a pq edge.

A disappointing announcement but realistically they aren't going to give us the bigger titles 'all at once'.
I'm confident that patience will pay off.

I had all of these DMC movies up until Operation Dumbo Drop, and haven't purchased any since. I really want the two Flubber movies though and wouldn't mind picking this up.

But I really want Darby O'Gill and The Shaggy Dog movies. Plus the Robin Williams Flubber remake which was advertised many years back as coming soon.
