Default Amazon.co.uk HDTV Guide

I was reading Amazon's section on HDUD:

HDTV Guide

And I noticed two things that annoyed me:
  1. The first thing I noticed: In their viewing distance guide, OKAY - I know TV sizes are traditionally in Imperial measurements, but why did they use feet + inches for viewing distance instead of meters? Do they think HDTV buyers for some reason don't use the Metric system? Or more likely did they just rip the graphic off of the Amazon US site?
  2. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly: why is their reccommended HDTV calebration Disc: Digital Video Essentials (Dve High Definition) [HD DVD] [2005]? I'm sure it's a nice disc, but it had the unfortunate system requirement that you must first purchase an obsolete player to use it.
