This is the game the original developers of Dead Space were working on, looking forward to this one.

Thanks. That would explain why I was almost sure it was a Dead Space Spinoff. Good to hear they made their own version of that style game. Looks brutal.

Definitely looks similar in a lot of aspects, which is a good thing.

Combat looked super stiff, but it could have just been the trailer editing. Lookin g forward to seeing some uncut gameplay at some point soon.

Believe it or not this game was originally a spin off of PUBG lmfao

Looks like a punishing, horrific, brutal horror action game along the lines of Dead Space.
Only thing I found frustrating about DeadSpace on PS3 was trying to figure out where to go next and running around in circles with the puzzles, trying to avoid the enemies and traps. But that is the essence of survival horror games.

Eh could just be the weapons they chose to display... If you used a lot of the other weapons besides the plasma cutter they look a lot like that in dead space especially on lower camera speed settings.

It was just the initial trailer. Raw gameplay looked normal.

I agree. From the trailer, the character has the same stiff blocky movement Dead Space had. Not sure how I feel about that. I feel like they could have had more of a fluid movement.

Hopefully, it's just the preview

In terms of more limited, rigid movements, that falls in line well with the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, increasing the sense of dread from not being too agile to get around monster enemies.

I can see that but I tried to play the RE2 remake a while back. Just couldn't do it. I felt like I was moving pieces around on a chess board. There is no reason today's games should be developed like that.

I hear what you're saying in terms of pure controls not linked to the horror theme.
I was playing Resident Evil 5 for the first time years ago (bought on sale), thinking "This will have much better controls than prior games for sure", and it felt like I was controlling a tank. Not being able to fire and walk at the same time pretty much was not good. That opening level didn't help either, walking down those narrow corridors in the town, blasting zombies.

RE7 thankfully controls well enough IMO.
Silent Hill Downpour controls well too for the most part compared to the first games.
For Silent Hill 1: I do remember thinking, "I barely have control over this character, which is adding to the tension, that must be their plan".
That whole control set up of turn 360˚, then push forward to advance, back to go backwards.

Very much so!

Although in regards to Callisto I actually ended up canceling that collectors edition. 250 bucks is insane honestly.
