Default The Incident (1967) (Limited Edition to 3,000)

Twilight Time will be releasing The Incident (1967) on February 20th, 2018, sourced from a new 4K scan.

Quote:
On a New York City subway, two young punks, Artie Connors (Martin Sheen) and Joe Ferrone (Tony Musante), take control of a car filled with passengers. Among other people, the train includes military officer Felix Teflinger (Beau Bridges) and tough-talking Bill Wilks (Ed McMahon), as well as quiet Jewish man Sam Beckerman (Jack Gilford), and his wife, Bertha (Thelma Ritter). As the hostage situation stretches out, things become increasingly tense for everyone confined to the subway car.

One of the more highly-requested titles on home video...don't think this one's ever even seen a DVD release.

Well done TT!

It belatedly did, but I think only in the UK, or anyway not in the US.

A great announcement from TT. I've wanted to see this film for a long time, but it has been practically impossible to find for home viewing. A 4K scan is the icing on the cake.

When I was a college film programmer, I showed this film on campus circa 1974. I drew four full houses, although few students had heard of it. Most of them liked it very much, although there were predictably a couple of walkouts. I expected that, due to the film's intensity.

Day One for me!

This was an incredible surprise (along with the equally rare Marigolds) from TT and I hope to see more scarcities like this from them. Hopefully these are rewarded with significant attention and movement.

Never heard of The Incident before this thread, but it looks compelling - and disturbing. I like the late 1960's NYC setting, so this & in and of itself will be enough for me to want to see this.

And, as someone who takes the subway (and other public transportation) on a regular basis, I like the convenience. However, public transport can also be dangerous. So, I'm sure this film will hit a little close to home for many of us.

Default Oh yeah!

Day one for me as well! I FINALLY get to lay down my VHS copy. Been worried about it lately as this is one of those that I show to people frequently. One of Martin Sheen's better movies IMO.

Now if they can come out with The Guardian on DVD or Blu Ray. Louis Gossett was excellent in this one. HBO movie though so I don't know if it will ever see the light of day. Fingers crossed.

Is this film in Black & White? Not that it matters, just curious.

Speaking of LGJ, I'd love to get The Principal in HD.

Your right. I always assumed that TT exclusive/limited BDs would not fall much in price but one look in the sale area of their website shattered my presumption. My mistake.

I've seen this movie once -- and that was enough. Not a pleasant film and not my idea of entertainment, but if you've never seen it it's worth checking out. For me, it's somewhat like THE HONEYMOON KILLERS. It was very compelling watching it for the first time, but repeat the experience? Pass.
