Excellent. More Poirot on UHD is always a good thing.

Great as long as they don't **** up the mono audio.

Kino Insider confirmed these will be two separate releases for anyone wondering.

Can’t wait. Both elegant and gloriously camp (it’s a compliment). Any approximative release date? Early 2025, late 2025…? Thanks.

The Kino MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS 4K disc is freakin' terrific. I'll be in for both of these.

Well, Murder was originally announced on 30th April 2023, but not realised until 15 months later in September 2024.

So hopefully not as long as that.

These are two of my favourite films, so I really hope they come out quickly.

Especially for Kino discs. When it’s Arrow or Eureka at least we know we’ll get a definitive release. A Kino release is like a placeholder until someone does it better since they want to use that cheap authoring house. Not to mention their so called original audio tends to be a downmix.

Agreed. It also seems like an excuse to put out a slip for all those slipcover collectors out there.

Posted this on the main KL thread too, but via the FB comments for the announcements of the Death On The Nile and Evil Under The Sun 4Ks, both will apparently also include remastered Blu-rays derived from the new masters used on the 4Ks. These remastered Blu-rays will eventually replace the older ones currently in print at some point and be available by themselves.

I can understand "Evil Under the Sun" because the original Kino BD used an older master instead of StudioCanal's newer remaster:

I'm surprised that they feel the need to redo Nile's BD. The current Kino BD is more than fine:

Probably because Nile was a 2K master and this will be a brand new restoration.

Is it? The thread dedicated to that release refers to it as a typical blocky encoding botch job by KL.

I know I’ve bought these movies like five times, but these are still Day One. Since, Kino is announcing these two films in 4K ahead of other labels, I wonder if they will add new 5.1 mix as well…

My only concern is when they say “soon,” how soon? Because there was a one year plus gap between the announcement of Murder on the Orient Express and release.

It's Kino, so likely this time next year at the earliest.
