Cool Blue Thunder - Most Memorable Moment...

Snooping in as quiet as a whisper - in a helicopter for Christ's sake - to see nik'ed roof-top yoga! My young eyes will never forget that drive-in movie moment!

Blue Thunder Blu

Nothing like watching a helicopter do a 360 degree loop.

It's interesting how a director like John Badham could make movies like this, along with other general crowd pleasers like Short Circuit, Saturday Night Fever, Stakeout, Point of No Return and WarGames, and not be well known and now be directing TV shows.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

This was one of my favorite movies growing up, so I'm dying to get my hands on it on Blu. I hope the studio did justice to this classic by releasing it with quality audio/video encodes.

I didn't realize that he directed all of those well known films and is now directing TV shows. I liked quite a lot of those films particularly Blue Thunder, War Games, Short Circuit, and Stakeout.

I really look forward to the Blue Thunder release on Blu.

I just remembered too! This was the first R-rated movie I saw with my Dad. I can't remember if that roof-top scene was awkward for him or not. Course he took me to Clint Eastwood's Sudden Impact that same year (THAT HAD AWKWARD MOMENTS - For a 12-year-old!) in 1983.

I guess he thought the Empire Strikes Back (1980) prepped me for R-rated movies or something

I just think the most memorable moment of the movie is the movie itself.

The Special Edition DVD looks perfect, so I have high expectations for this on BD.

The top floor ***** yoga exercise is the best part of the movie. That's one thing I missed about current movies. We don't get to see as much exposure in movies as from those in the 70s and 80s.

Default Anyone else excited for Blue Thunder?

This was a favorite of mine growing up, and I always think it's a little underappreciated. I've owned this on VHS, Laserdisc and DVD and the transfer has never been great, so I am really looking forward to this being like many of the great catalog titles we've seen this year.

I agree i believe that this is a little unappreciated gem. The aerial sequences are pretty cool for it's age and the fact they shut parts of LA to shoot to pull them off is remarkable for it's era. The title has been in my wishlist since it was announced.

I have always liked this one as well. It has some great lines. Though I don't think that I will be replacing my DVD on it.

Icelan: Well, look at that, all the red dummies are blown to hell.
Frank Murphy: And a few white ones!
Fletcher: One civilian dead for every ten terrorists. That's an acceptable ratio.
Frank Murphy: Unless you're one of the civilians!
....................

Jack Braddock: I've been trying to get you all night. Why don't you answer your ****ing beeper?
Frank Murphy: I just wanna tell you, Jack, that the next time I'm suspended, so is my ****ing beeper!

...................
Frank Murphy: Catch ya later!
