Kate Winslet was born in Reading England. Her first break came in Heavenly Creatures which was directed by Peter Jackson who would go on to direct The Lord of the Rings films and King Kong. Her big break would come in 1997's Titanic which was directed by James Cameron. She would go on to win an Academy Award for her role as Hanna Schmitz in The Reader.

I've only seen one film Kate's done: Titanic. I've heard of a few others, and the only one that strikes my interest is Finding Neverland; still haven't seen it though.

As to Kate, she's been a favorite of mine since Heavenly Creatures. The number of great roles she has performed is unbelievable. And she's gorgeous on top of it.

How many Oscars does Kate have and what's your favorite Kate role? I don't know her work well enough to have a favorite. I was surprised to see her playing the villain in, I think it's the Divergent series.
