Help please; SACD won't play on PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

I have 2 Hybrid SACD discs, both Telarc, which play just fine on our PS3.
I bought a new Telarc SACD Hybrid that ,when inserted, reads "no tracks" and does not appear on the disc menu.
I took it back to the store and tried it in a standalone Hybrid plaler and it worked just fine.

Any ideas?

Sometimes the SACD layer is not recognized by the PS3. You may need to use other SACDs first before the OPU will reorient itself to this problematic disc. If you have other SACDs, play a couple of tracks on them first and then try out your new disc.

It doesnt see anything. The album name & title do not appear on the playlist.

It just doesn't show the disc name and track titles or it doesn't play the tracks either?

Is it not one of the problems described in the PS3 SACD FAQ's troubleshooting section?

The PS3 tries to read all layers of a hybrid sacd when it is loaded in the slot. Once in a while I've seen it just not read certain layers(like recognizing the cd layer and ignoring the Sacd layers). But this has always been remedied by ejecting the disc and then re-inserting it into the slot. Always make sure your PS3 has the latest firmware. Anything beyond that it may be a quirky disc or signs your PS3's laser is starting to die.

i had this problem with a dvd and put a couple other dvds in then put the one i was having trouble with back in and it worked i dont think it matters but the movie i was having trouble with was the incredibles.

i know it seems obvious..but you don't have a 40gb ps3 do you? lol

he's got an 80, it's in his signature.

hey, sorry to hijack, but Canton ohio...... do you still have two Best Buys, the Strip, and the one by Circuit City or whatever it is??? Have you checked for them carrying old Paramount Blu-disks?

ah..I've got sigs off, my bad.

only one best buy..they moved from near cc to the strip..but no last time I was there I didn't notice any. live around canton?

Used to work in Canton, at Diebold, live on the West-Side of Cleveland. (thank god that Commute is over)
