Would love seeing BEN HUR - 60TH ANNIVERSARY in 4K -> next year . Gonna it happen next year????

I suppose it will Looks amazing (which already did in HD). Common MGM/WarnerBrothers

My guess is two BD100s cause it's a damn long movie. Also that aspect ratio.

Saw this in 4K at a film festival last year, stunningly sharp, it will look gorgeous on UHD!

70mm would do that, just like Blade runner.. more movies should be in 70mm IMO.

Ben Hur is probably my most desired 4K title, followed by The Ten Commandments.

This would be a no brainer and fantastic.
But it needs the original Oscar winning soundmix instead of only having a 5.1 remix.

I'm sure that several of you have seen the tweet from Dawn of The Discs copied below. Before we get too excited it looks like his source is HDMovieSource which have had this listed for months, but without UPC number. I have regarded it as a rumor so far, but let us hope that something is happening.

BEN-HUR was already scanned in 8K.
I remember reading about it when BD was released because of the 70mm.

BEN-HUR already went through 8K Scan as its shot on 70mm celluloid.
for restoration and stuff as a 2 disc BD-50 1080p release.

4K release should not be an issue.

I know... that's why Im wondering why they didn't release it. Hopefully next year Moutiny on the Bounty (1962) for its 60 annyiversary will coming on 4K.

This is another title which will be mind-blowing in 4k
