FCC filings reveal new SKU for North America

Filings at the Federal Communications Commission reveal that Sony will be releasing the Ceramic White PlayStation 3 in North America.

Originally released in Japan in November, the 40 GB units comes with a white DualShock 3 controller and retails for JPY 39,980 in the region.

A covering letter from Sony Japan shows that the unit was submitted to the FCC and the American Telecommunications Certification Body in October of last year, requesting short-term confidentiality "to avoid premature release of sensitive information prior to marketing or release of the product to the public."

NPD data released last week revealed that Sony sold 798,000 PS3 units in December 2007, the strongest month for sales in the region.

I dont know, a white PS3 would look kinda strange to me. Black makes it look like the sexy beast it is.

White one would look nice, but I like the black one that I have better because it just pops more.

The white looks awesome, hopefully but I doubt it they will release one day in pink, even if it's a limited edition.

i bought a black 20go when i went to japan last spring

well,
i bought a white 40go this christmas when i went there again
white is so nice

next to a white ps2, ceramic white game cube, white psp and 360

People! Have you ever thought about an alternative way to use an extra PS3 such as the white one in other rooms? Right now I'm using my current one for my bedroom and later in the future, I'd like to get the silver PS3 when it becomes available. When I buy another HDTV, I'm going to buy another PS3 as well for my living room
