Default MSNBC still spreading confusion, while Fox, Others Seem to Get it

Interestingly, even though Microsoft itself has distanced itself from HD DVD's defeat a recent article by Suzanne Choney Contributing editor for MSNBC "With hi-def war, it's 1975 all over again" pretty much ignores recent developments and lays the fear and confusion thick and heavy:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22730428/

Compare this with:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,320945,00.html
"Blu-Ray Disc Backers Taste Victory in DVD Format War" from AP

Even though MSNBC has consistently shown strong bias regarding anything impacting Microsoft's strategic directions, Ms Choney's article is the most overtly foolish of any we've seen for a while.

It's sad how her article only has a 2star rating. Guess that's what she gets for not doing more research prior to writing such an article.

Sort of helps one understand why MSNBC is constantly last in the ratings.

Wow... pure propaganda from MS. No mention of Warner or any recent developments. This lady is either a total moron or was told to print that nonsense.

God, I'm so glad this dumb war is over

Are you implying that a news organization that's owned by a major corporation would creatively edit bad news about said organization?

I don't think that's ever happened before!

I gave it a 1 the other day when i first saw it on that site.

Basically because it's garbage and not worth reading.

Typical MSNBC news. Fox generally reports the facts as they come across, MSNBC gives you the story colored by the writers personal viewpoint.

It's to be expected. MSNBC would side with their businesses and Fox would side with the other side.

I think they usually at least try to keep up some pretense of impartiality. It's one thing when it's politics and it's not clear who is right about a particular issue, since much of it is speculation about future impact of policies, but it's another thing when there are hard numbers showing one format dominating for over a year, with huges swings its direction lately, and you're playing it as a stalemate.

I actually thought that Microsoft had little to do with MSNBC, but I just looked it up and found that while that is true for the TV channel (where they own a mere 18%), they still own half of msnbc.com. You'd hope they'd want to keep the prestige of the site as a new source high by not engaging in pro-Microsoft nonsense like this, but I guess you'd be mistaken.
