Quote:
Chaos lurks in every corner of this giddily off-kilter foray into romantic comedy by Paul Thomas Anderson. Struggling to cope with his erratic temper, novelty toilet plunger salesman Barry Egan (Adam Sandler, demonstrating remarkable versatility in his first dramatic role) spends his days collecting frequent-flyer-mile coupons and dodging the insults of his seven sisters. The promise of a new life emerges when Barry inadvertently attracts the affections of a mysterious woman named Lena (Emily Watson), but their budding relationship is threatened when he falls prey to the swindling operator of a phone sex line and her deranged boss (played with maniacal brio by Philip Seymour Hoffman). Fueled by the careening momentum of a baroque-futurist score by Jon Brion, the Cannes-award-winning Punch-Drunk Love channels the spirit of classic Hollywood musicals and the whimsy of Jacques Tati into an idiosyncratic ode to the delirium of new romance.

Feel like I should get this to have a complete PT Anderson set eventually, but it's not really a movie I would watch over and over. That said I haven't seen it in 10 years probably, so who knows.

It's about time! I didn't think anyone was going to release this title! Can't wait I expect the image quality to beyon notch coming from Sony. The new interview and scoring session with Jon Brion will be cool. Wish PTA and Brion would work together again.

This film I can watch over and over! Business is very Food.

I didn't ask for a shrink - that must've been somebody else. Also, that pudding isn't mine. Also, I'm wearing this suit today because I had a very important meeting this morning and I don't have a crying problem.

My favorite PTA. So stoked for this release.

It really saddens me how cheap Criterion's artwork looks nowadays, it used to be consistently amazing when they started releasing on Blu-ray.

You'd prefer this:

or this:

Because I think the Criterion art better conveys the actual tone of the movie.

I really like the cover art but why are Adam Sandler's eyebrows blonde?

The second photo is great and would make a perfect cover, albeit with a bit of sprucing up and the lens flares inserted as per the movie.

Art work is the least of my concerns when it comes to Blu Rays but that would be preferable.

Here's hoping Criterion nabs "Hard Eight" and "Inherent Vice" at some point.

Finally! An all time favourite of mine.

I'm also glad it's Sony so there's a likely chance of a UK release.
