Default In Search of the Trojan War (and other Michael Wood documentaries)

A few of Michael Wood's later documentaries are on blu-ray, but his best series by far are his earlier ones.

Some were shot on film, so it should be possible to get a good scan out of them, as was done for the blu-ray of Kenneth Clark's Civilisation.

Wood's In Search of the Trojan War is probably the best of the lot.

But his In Search of the Dark Ages, In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great, Conquistadors, In Search of Shakespeare are all excellent and repay repeated viewings. Most or all were released on DVD by PBS stateside and by the BBC in the UK.

Would love to get blu-rays of any or all of these.

I might add that Wood (relatively) recently created a TV special and a series that are both the equal of his great early documentaries, and much better than the ones that have made it to blu.

Michael Wood on Beowulf (2009)

King Alfred and the Anglo Saxons (2013)

Given their dates, these were surely shot (and broadcast) in HD, so blu-rays would be easy.

DVDs are available (possibly bootlegs), but I'd love to buy proper blu-ray discs of either or both of these great series.
