Default Favorite Superman movie

Last night I saw Superman: the movie and liked it. I've also seen Superman Returns and I am planning on seeing the other three by monday. I made a Batman poll like this one and it is clear that the people on this site like The Dark Knight the best. Well, now it's Supermans turn. I'll vote once i've seen all of them. Please put why you liked the movie or why you didn't. Thanks.

The first two movies were the best. My favorite is still the 2nd. The 3rd and fourth are good but not as good as the first two. For Superman Returns, only Clark/Superman and Lex got a good casting and the story was average.

i voted for superman returns i am a huge superman fan and i really liked the take that bryan singer took on superman and thought it was very well done and i really liked all the nods he gave to the great richard donnor as the first was a masterpiece as well.however i thought returns was better.the special effects were amazing and and the story on supermans struggle was brillant,i do however want to see him fight a tougher opponent next to really get to see superman shine.but as we all know returns was just a reintroduction to the character so the next will be even better.superman lives

I never saw Superman Returns. But, otherwise, I would say Superman, The Movie.

Why isn't Confessions of a Superhero here? That is the best Superman movie.

There was Superman 3 with Richard Pryor as the villain and Superman 4 The Quest for Peace. Neither of these were as successful as the first 2 and Superman Returns. In fact they have practically been forgotten about.

My favorite would have to be Superman 2 as General Zod and his 2 cohorts offer Superman a real challenge being from Krypton as well and having the same powers as the Man of Steel.

I love the first three from the original franchise with Christopher Reeve. The fourth one is almost unwatchable though. Superman Returns is okay if a bit hokey. I would watch them in the order they were made. If you like the movies you might want to check out Superman: The Animated Series on dvd. It ran three seasons and is consistently good.

I love Superman 2 the best. General Zod and his 2 kryptonian bodyguards are just eery and they are a match for Superman in his abilities. When Superman gives his powers up in that one, the scene in the diner is just emotionally compelling.

The first one was just weird. Not much action in my opinion. Also, the part when Superman spins the Earth backwards to turn back time was just too cheesy for me!

I think that I like Superman1 over Superman2. I'll watch the third one later today, then I gotta go all the way back to the video store and get the fourth one.

Pretty much sums up why #2 is my favorite. The ending of the first one has never sat well for me.

Oh boy, i remember both of those but they're just too similar for me to tell the difference. Which one had the ending where
[Show spoiler] Superman launched the villain into the Sun
?
