Default Question regarding keyboard/mouse support and PS3 games

Question for those with more insight than I. I am a huge FPS fan but am very partial to playing them on the computer. I like the keyboard/mouse combo, more especially the mouse to aim and shoot. I've had R:FOM and presently play Rainbow 6:Vegas a bit. (I still love Return to Castle Wolfenstein on PC )
Is there to date or a future plan to incorporate this aspect to PS3 games?
I'd also be more likely to utilize the web access ability of the PS3 with a keyboard. Using the controller to attempt to enter a web address is not fun for me.
Thanks for any information.

I have used a Logitech MX 5000 keyboard (bluetooth wireless) and was able to use it in the internet browser and chat. For FPS gaming, I suggest either using this attachment or this controller (although you would still be using half of a controller for movement)

you could try the FragFX controller but it didn't work for me. I hated using the sticks when I first started playing console FPS but I have grown to be quite good at it...well, good enough for me. I admit that I was much better with the K&M but I just love playing on the console with my 52" bravia, haha.

Just get used to the controller. It would create an unfair playingfield if some people used controllers and other people used mice.

FYI: I'm originally an old school gamer going back to Wolf3d, Doom, Quake, etc. Just move on with the times

Unreal Tournament III uses Keyboard and Mouse controls. Others may as well, but I'm not certain.

I think it's up to individual games whether or not they support it, and isn't something that can be changed overall via a system update.

Was not meant for an advantage, meant for just playing the single person games. Not liking the controller issue would just cause me to buy the PC version of the game. The two games mentioned are my first attempts at a FPS on console. The games I generally enjoy on console are the sort of Tiger Woods (before the tweaked the game play so much), ATV Off Road Fury and such.

My current setup:

Cordless MediaBoard Pro (Bluetooth)
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ga.../3616&cl=us,en

G5 Laser Mouse
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mi...s/359&cl=us,en

This combo works great for UT3. Also make sure you are NOT using wireless internet connection, instead, use the hardline - it will play better.

I tried a bunch of wireless USB and Bluetooth mice and none worked as well as the wired USB G5.

Hope this helps - oh, and if you want to try out some mice for yourself, go to BestBuy ... they let you return them for a full refund if all of the packaging is in order

Oh yes, RTCW, especially its TCE version is a fantastic game and I spent many hours playing it online.
PS3 supported keyboards and mice from the get go. However, game developers so far do not take advantage of that. This question should really be addressed to game developers - and on this matter I am 100% with the OP - they need to start enabling full in-game support of keaboard and mouse, and I am not talking about ability to select menu options and scroll the pages. I am talking about comlete control, aiming, firing, moving the character, etc.
