Saw this again today, really is an amazing film - should do well at the oscars.

Tremendous film. Glazer is proving himself as one of the best film-makers in the world.

Agree with all of you. Saw it yesterday. Incredible film. Whilst it's brilliant that Madman are putting it out on Blu here I might wait to see if it gets a 4K in the US before deciding whether to get the local or not.

Watched this today and thought it was brilliant. Can't imagine any other director showing evil how he did.

Very odd there's no UK release listed yet.

Unless A24 announces something here in the US soon (and it it isn't a $40+ release you can only buy through their shop), this might be the best option for me. However, I noticed on Madman's site it's a PAL encoded transfer—will that make any difference in the actual presentation vs what I saw in the cinema? (I have a Region Free player anyway when it comes to actual playback compatibility.) Thanks in advance.

PAL is an SD analog video standard. It has nothing to do with Blu-ray.

PAL matters for discs that are 1080i /50HZ

It's relatively unlikely that it's a 1080i/50 disc (although it has been known to happen), I think it is more likely to be a case of copy/pasting specs from the DVD to the bluray. There's other Madman releases that are listed as PAL on the website but are actually normal 1080p. Similarly I'd be surprised if the listed Dolby Digital audio is actually what's on the disc.

The French or German releases might be of interest to you. Maybe wait until they come out to see if they're English friendly though. I believe Leonine in Germany is usually not?

Or since a Lionsgate release hasn't even been announced, I'd be surprised if A24 weren't preparing their own 4K for their store.

Purchased this today and watched in on a double with Goodbye Uncle Tom (Italian version). A harrowing experience back to back.

Assuming you purchased the Aussie Blu, how was the transfer quality and was it an NTSC or PAL encode? And is it Region Free or B-locked? Thanks in advance.

I haven't watched it yet, so can't speak to the transfer, but I did just confirm the disc is region free.

guessing it’s barebones as well?

there’s a documentary about Höss being released by Fathom/WB/HBO (The Commandant’s Shadow) but it’s not out for another month, would have been a good inclusion
