Same here. While I watch enough to probably make it worth subscribing, I'm just going to wait for the Blu-ray for this like I do for Homeland and Shameless. It looks like something I shouldn't have a problem loving.

I watched it Sun night since there was a Showtime free preview. I really liked it and will get it on blu-ray.

At first I thought Penny Dreadful was Eva's character name but after watching the first episode and featurettes on demand, finally found out why and found myself really enjoying this new show. I watch it right after GoT. Looking forward to see the rest of the season.

I'm sure it'll go back down to $34.99-ish bit I'm still glad I locked in the $29.99 price.

Anyone know how quickly Showtime series are released on disc after the end of a season? Any chance this will come out in July?

Shameless ends each season at the beginning of April or end of March and is released on Blu-ray in December.

HBO is similar in that it usually releases the previous season on disc a few weeks prior to the start of the next season. However, True Detective was released shortly after airing.

My best guess would be the end of March or the beginning of April as Penny Dreadful premiered at the end of April this year.

My guess is the blu-ray will be out around October, just in time for Halloween. Showtime doesn't take as long as HBO in releasing blu-rays.

Since it's Paramount, I wonder if it will be TrueHD 5.1. I'd prefer DTS-HD MA 5.1 to be honest, but there really isn't a difference I guess.
