i think the order in which they came out matches the order of the best to the worst. i really didn't like 4.

I disagree. The dialoge in the unrated one didn't sound as fluid as in the PG-13 one. The swearing seemed forced and unnatural.

yeah. the thing is those that saw the 1st one when it came out in the movie theater, will remember, it was the mother of all action movies. in fact, i would even feel safe to say it kicked off the idea of the big budget blockbuster action comedy genre of films. truly groundbreaking. and made bruce willis a star. i thought 3 was good with samual l jackson, and 4 was decent. but by then there are already a lot of similar type of films. die hard was the 1st.

Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think this poll is silly. Die Hard is the definitive action movie. It is a CLASSIC. It set the framework that so many movies have tried to copy. It is arguably the best if not one of the top five action movies of all time. I know there are many younger members on this forum that may not appreciate it like some of us older members, but I'll take Die Hard over Transformers every time.

None of them can touch the original. It's untouchable, an absolute classic.

2 isn't perfect, but it still feels like Die Hard to me, with Reggie VJ and Bonnie Bedelia still around.

3 marked the triumphant return of McTiernan, and Sammy Jack is a bonus.

Those of you voting #4 as your favorite...for shame.
