On dvd I meant to say. But yeah there isn't. I'm assuming they are gonna use the same covers like they did for dvd.

Be nice if it had a commentary or the original footage they had shot, before basically re-filming all the movie. But i don't think that's something they do.

I popped in my Unrated DVD a few weeks back because the movie was IFC and I wanted to watch it w/o commercials, and was surprised how much I kind of enjoyed seeing it again. I too would love to see all the scrapped footage (especially that of Mandy Moore as Mya's character) but with this going to Echo Bridge, chances are we'll end up seeing another botched release, with a load of problems, and no real reason to upgrade from DVD.

Also, did anyone notice the aspect ratio on that Amazon page? 1.33:1? Forreal?!

Amazon's specs are regularly incorrect, so I wouldn't put too much trust in what they have listed.

Going to pick up this Canadian version from Amazon its only around $13 and its prime eligible. I love Christina Ricci so I actually don't mind this film. Id it true that it went to Echo Bridge in the US? If so then that makes getting this release all the better. If its is released in the states from EB if I can get it cheap or rent it to compare to the Canadian one I will

Yup.

Looks like they have only released the PG-13 cut on DVD in not 1 or 2 but 3 different sets - by itself, in a 2-pack with "Dracula 2000", and an 8-film set with "H20", "Dracula 2000", "Dracula II: Ascension", "Phantoms", "Children Of The Corn V", "The Faculty" & "Hellraiser: Inferno".

It's a shame EB is gonna ruin "The Faculty" as well. I'm glad I found the Canadian release from Alliance over the summer (but that coversation's for another thread entirely).

But you can bet EB will release it in 1.78, and not the theatrical 2.39, as they have done with others.

Can't see what aspect ratio the alliance version is. They do the same thing sometimes.

Too bad they never released the Unrated version for this on Blu-ray. Also too bad the PQ/AQ seem to suck. I guess I'll just stick with the DVD. I wish Echo Bridge hadn't gotten this or that it at least wasn't one of their earlier releases of a Miramax catalog title as lately they seem to be doing much better. I actually enjoyed Cursed quite a bit. Sure it could have been much better. I mean, a werewolf movie from the creators of Scream? That could have been epic. But it was still fun. I doubt we'll ever see a release with the scrapped footage. Too bad as it would have been cool. I at least wish we would have gotten an Unrated Blu-ray in good quality.

I too enjoyed "Curse" and would purchase the original version of the film in a heartbeat (or even a copy with the alternate footage included as a special feature), but as is, I'm happy with the DVD.

I have the DVD unrated version as well.. Wouldn't dream of buying it on blu-ray if it's not the unrated version.

I think we may be getting the unrated version from Echo Bridge. Don't know about the AR but I pre-ordered a r-rated version on blu from an online retailer already. They did the same, R-Rated (instead of Unrated) treatment with "Darkness", which turned out rather nicely. Here's hoping. It's also a singlet instead of being packaged in as the pg-13 ported from the Alliance release.

Now I just have to wait out for a single disc version of "Phantoms".

It's also worth noting that that a blue cover doesn't mean pg-13 & unrated means red anymore. Darkness retained the theatrical blue cover while not being the pg-13 version. The site lists "Darkness" in the six pack as being pg-13 too!

I could only find this pre-order on one site though. Odd. I guess it might not be from Echo Bridge (highly doubt this) but on their site they don't have any August release dates.

Echo Bridge is really slow when they update their site, sometimes the movies arent even listed yet on their site, but its already been released for a week. ;p

Got a shipment notice. I'll post again when it arrives. It's already in my city but I don't know if they'll ship it tomorrow since it's release date is Tuesday.

I'm more shocked that Amazon doesn't list it than EB's home site.
